Who regulates the internet? The internet sources are everywhere and we are suppose to have our own freedom to access to it. Somehow we've been block to certain content that. Does we really have a party that involve in managing the content? Due to Google search, the 1st thing appear on the top list is Internet Society, but who authorized them to do so? Government? Or some international big organization? We will never know but we know why, which is something needs to be cover and something we should not be told.
Internet censorship has been a topic all the years, some feels that it is a should and must while some thinks that it is unnecessary because the internet are meant to be free. Why censorship? To protect us or to hide something from us? Some information has been censor to us, where we only see part of the stories without knowing the whole. It is good to give the society a "peaceful" news to prevent chaos but what if, the truth had been filtered and only negative are brought to the people?
I heard a story, where a news journalist from other country was fired because he insist to report on the dark side or the politician. Is that fair enough? No I should say. To me, certain level of censorship is good for the society, but hiding the truth just to keep some dirty politician or organization safe? That is awful. In the end, it depends on us, ourselves to think and digest what we read through the net. It is very important for individual to have rational mind when reading an article or a news. Defining that the trustworthy of the content we read, make a deeper research so that we have precautions.

aye, I agree with your statement that it is rather to be safe than sorry. The system of information transparency is rather unenforced that leaves many gaps that can be exploited. So putting up or leaving out important personal information is a good safety measure.

Yes, i agree with you, maybe some of the information should have a certain level of censorship, but they cannot hide the truth, it might affect the world's people thought, cause what they see it then that's what they will believe.
ReplyDeleteI actually disagree that internet censorship is be put to it's end. When you think about it, sometimes internet should have a limitation or restriction to the the younger age groups. For example if they were to view a website or a video that is over rated, they must first log in so that they are either eligible to view the webpage or video. But as for giving out information to the public, the government is the one who have the control on how they want it to be filtered. But nowadays, people could easily get news on the inside scoop of the truth by just spreading it by words once they get the information. But how true is it when an information is posted in the internet? Sometimes we don't know for sure whether it can be a trusted source or not.
