ACT114A is a new cyber law to monitor the people who are using the web 2.0, or we so call the social networks. Not many people aware/concern about the act so far but if you're using Facebook, Twitter, a blog or an administer website, you are under the ACT114A. But, isn't the internet FREE?! The limitless freedom or sharing and writing? Well apparently this is now a different story to tell after the new law is fixed.
People should be really aware about this because we are so used to post anything we like on the web to express ourselves on the net. We need to filter and reconsider before posting a status at Facebook or tweeting on Twitter.
Should we just keep quiet and quit social networking and stay off the net to be safe? No, that's what the government want us to do, to feel fear for them. It's no criminal we're doing by expressing ourselves, what happened after this act? Something else for us to shut our mouth for daily speaking? It's very important for us to raise our awareness about the act and do something about it.

I agreed with what you said about this act. It's true that we will have a tough time to post certain issue and express ourselves. Implementing this act is of course not showing any democracy in our country.

I am surely agree with you. Implementing the act is really unfair to us. Besides that, we have rights to voice out what we like. This act has to be stopped.

truly agree with you jeremy, accusing someone based on a assumption is not just unfair but also a violation of the freedom of speech act.

ReplyDeleteI'm totally agree with your opinion. We shall not just reserve our words inside the hearts, we shall express it. The government should not arrest us even though we comment or post something gossip about upper class people in the Facebook or Tweeter.

technically, the internet belongs to NO ONE and because of that it is a very powerful tool but the Act 114A undermines this factor. Moreover, the amendment is based on assumptions that violates the one of core principles of justice that is "innocent until proven guilty".
