Facebook’s Privacy Issues!

Am I aware of this? Yes I do, since the 1st day I was on a social network, which is Friendster, I never trust any of them. I never believe that they actually keep our personal information safe. I never update my personal information more than 50%, for precautions and my own safety purpose. As for my pictures? they're less than 10 pictures of my face on my Facebook, it's better to stay safe than sorry.

Giving up on social networking is not an option for current generation, it is one of the need of life to survive and yes, I cannot live without stalking my close friends and read through their wall posts before sleep. Facebook is part of my life! Even part of my education life involved Facebook, I have few discussion groups for assignments and subjects on Facebook.

I won't say that I will stop social networking but be more careful about tagging a picture of a face. It's not about rights and privacy that we're talking about because that's nothing we can do about it unless you have the power to fight against giant social networking companies. But we have to know the way to keep ourselves safe, to keep our information from leaking out.

Stop checking in every single location, and update full personal information on your profile. Not to say we fake our personal information but we preserved it, by just fill up what it's needed to open an account, other thn that? We keep it to ourselves. And girls, don't put your personal mobile number on Facebook, it's danger.

Thanks for viewing.

  1. That was actually quite true. Those precaution steps that we need to take to keep our information safe. I realised that there are still people out there that are not keeping their information and tagged photos safe. I also agree that social network is a part of live in this 21st century. If I were to give up, on Facebook, I would find it really hard for my education purposes.

  2. Aye, i would agree to this. Personal information is very sensitive and has the ability to intrude unwanted attention. One can know this by just looking at celebrities. Even toilet breaks are recorded. I do not believe it is wise to stop using social networking sites but it would be best to just keep certain aspect of information to ourselves. There is also a saying, it is not a lie by telling half truths.

  3. I agree to this, too. People sometimes will often change their profile pictures and check in locations through foursquare. I will never put my own mobile phone number in Facebook, to avoid people keep on disturbing. I'm agree with how you say, Facebook is part of my life too! Without it, I will feel uneasy and of course, cannot live without it..

  4. Yeah, you are correct. I also have to check the update every few minutes. It's also save our money because we do our work, project, or assignment through send message in facebook but not through phone. It's correct we cannot fully update our information into facebook. And yeah, it's truly dangerous if girls put the hand phone to the facebook, the stalker may stalk you by using some kind of instrument or device.
